The Vosgian massif spreads over Lorraine, Alsace, Franche-Comté and even a part of Germany, offering a remarkable geological variety.

Being the witness to the meeting between two continents 330 million years ago, the Vosges offer a unique diversity of rocks.

More recently the Rhenan rift was born and our valleys were shaped by glaciers, they also provided our ancestors with ways of communications

Our purpose is to develop a center for both the general public (including tourists) and specialists interested in research and studies.

 

is made up of 4 main departments :

• The life of Granit workers - Department of Granit Industry
• All the rocks of the Vosgian Massif - Department of Petrology
• The amazing and outstanding exhibition of Worldwide Minerals - Department of Mineralogy -- Boasting the famous collection of la Moineaudière --
• The history of the life of Fossils - Department de Palaeontology

Terrae Genesis also presents temporary exhibitions about various themes such as the history of the Earth, plate tectonics or the use of minerals.
